Privacy policy

HouseKiper (“we”) is a home maintenance app. This policy explains what information the HouseKiper app and this website collect and how it is used. We keep it short because we collect very little.

What we collect

• Account details: your name, email address and password. Passwords are stored hashed; we never see them.
• Your home profile: the answers you give in the setup wizard (for example, whether you have a garden or a dishwasher), used only to suggest maintenance tasks.
• Your tasks: the maintenance tasks and to-dos you create, their intervals and the dates you complete them.
• Language and reminder settings. Reminder preferences are stored on your device.
• Anonymous usage statistics and errors: which steps of the app are used (for example, finishing the setup wizard or completing a task) and technical errors, tied only to a random ID generated on your device, plus app version and platform (iOS, Android or web). They never include your name, email, IP address, tasks or home profile, and the ID isn’t linked to your account. We also measure whether reminders are turned on, whether you open the app from a reminder, and whether a task was completed on time or overdue and for which time (1st, 2nd, 3rd or more), without recording which task it is. You can turn this off in Settings → Usage statistics, which also deletes the ID from your device.
• Anonymous website statistics: when you visit this website we count the page view and clicks on the App Store / Google Play buttons, together with the page path, the website you came from (domain only) and any campaign tags in the link (utm_source, utm_medium, utm_campaign). We use no cookies, no local storage and no identifier, so we can’t tell visits apart or follow you across pages, and we don’t store your IP address. If your browser sends “Do Not Track” or “Global Privacy Control”, we send nothing.

What we don’t do

• We don’t sell or share your data with advertisers or data brokers.
• We don’t use third-party analytics, advertising SDKs or cookies in the app or on this website; the anonymous statistics above are stored on our own servers.
• We don’t access your location, contacts, photos or camera.

Notifications

Reminders are scheduled locally on your phone. We don’t use a push notification service, so no device token is sent to us or to third parties. You can turn reminders off at any time in the app settings.

How we use your data

Only to provide the service: sign you in, store and sync your tasks and calculate when each one is due.

Where it is stored

Your data is stored on servers we operate, transferred over encrypted connections (HTTPS). The sign-in token on your phone is kept in the device’s secure storage.

Retention and deletion

We keep your data while your account exists. You can delete your account and all its data at any time from the app (Settings → Delete account). Deletion is immediate and permanent. See how to delete your account.

Your rights

You can access, correct or delete your personal data at any time. If you are in the EU/UK you also have the right to object to processing and to lodge a complaint with your data protection authority.

Children

HouseKiper is not directed at children under 13 and we don’t knowingly collect their data.

Changes

If we change this policy we will update the date above and, for significant changes, let you know in the app.
